Position Summary:
The Controller reports to the Group Controller and is a part of the group controlling team. You will be involved in all controlling and reporting activities of our five European plants located in Germany, Italy, France and Spain. In addition, you will act as a backup when a plant controller is absent. Together with the Group Controller and the plant controllers, you will also provide financial direction to the plants and define measures to improve plant performance. This is a key function for the Group and therefore requires high flexibility and strong analytical skills. The position is based in our European Headquarters in Berlin, Germany.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review monthly business reports and deviation analyses, and prepare jointly reporting to the management board
- Support on year end closing and yearly group budgeting process
- Support on harmonization and optimization of controlling processes across the plants
- Support on enhancing cost controlling, e.g. unify standard costing set-ups across the plants and establish actual costing (Material Ledger)
- Support in implementation of CO-PA
- Conduct variance analyses and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions
- Support to the plant controlling when needed: month end closing, year-end closing, budgeting process
- Identify of optimization potentials in plants operational efficiency through financial & controlling analyses
- Support in SAP upgrade project for CO-module functions
- Introduce and further develop modern controlling tools and key figures
- Creation of presentations and analyses, along with ad-hoc evaluations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in business administration or a comparable qualification, ideally with a focus on controlling. Master preferred
- At least 5 years of professional experience in controlling within manufacturing companies
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- Cost accounting experience
- Very good knowledge of SAP (FI/CO), preferably S/4HANA
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of HGB (German Commercial Code) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is a plus
- Hands-on, structured, and proactive working style
- Enjoy working in team and actively interacting with cross-functional departments
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and intercultural understanding
