Your Role

  • Yor are leading and and develop a team of 4 project buyers at the development and production site in Jena, for the Business Sector Refractive Surgery, as well as Chronic Disease Management as interim

  • You understand the strategy and product roadmap of the relevant Business Sectors, and make it transparent to the team

  • You ensure that project buyers are fully and early integrated in the project teams as responsible team members to take over all procurement topics in the projects, with focus on costs, timeline, and an optimized and secured upstream Supply Chain for serial production

  • You ensure that the procurement-related project targets are aligned with the global category strategies, in close cooperation with the colleagues from Category Management

  • You make innovation potential of suppliers visible to foster joint developments with external partners

  • You contribute to the further professionalization of the global Project Procurement function, such as improving and harmonizing processes across the different sites, establishing KPIs, etc, in close cooperation with peer-department heads


  • University degree (diploma/master) in Business Administration or Engineering, or similar

  • Extensive years' experience in strategic procurement in a global company, preferably in a regulated industry

  • Professional experience in a (development) project environment

  • Ability to motivate a team

  • Strong business acumen, and assertiveness

  • bility to structure processes and set priorities

  • Fluent English; German is a plus
