Job Description
As our new Head of Data Operations (f/m/d) at Bauer Media Digital Publishing, you will play a pivotal role in co-creating our digital business data strategy. You will actively participate in strategic group projects, collaborate on the development of complex data platforms and environments, and provide expert consultation on data architecture and modeling. Additionally, you'll engage with advanced analytics and AI topics that are critical to the entire group.
In this role, you'll work closely with various business, technical, and support departments, ensuring the seamless delivery of key data-related projects from inception to the demonstration of their added business value.
- Coordinate and support cross-border projects with a focus on data initiatives
- Leverage your technical and architectural knowledge to support strategic group projects
- Provide data architecture and data modeling expertise to local data teams
- Participate in, coordinate, and support the development of data projects beyond digital publishing, including print publishing, audio, and central initiatives
- Engage in central group projects, ensuring consistent practices across data engineering, data strategy, and infrastructure across multiple teams
- Coordinate the deployment of data products, working closely with both tech and business teams
- Assist local teams with the operation and maintenance of data CICD pipelines
- Collaborate with group strategy to drive group-wide initiatives
- Offer internal consulting on technology and architecture-related matters
- Provide infrastructure and technology support to local data teams
- Facilitate communication among data, tech, and business teams to streamline data-related projects
- At least 5 years' experience delivering data products in technical roles, such as Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer
- Proven experience managing cross-border projects within multinational environments
- Familiarity with working in virtual teams and agile methodologies
- Extensive experience with complex data environments, including running data-heavy pipelines and building CICD pipelines
- Strong background in data architecture and data modeling
- Experience with cloud environments, with a significant advantage if familiar with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated stress resistance, maintaining effectiveness and composure under pressure
