Capex Controller

ECCO Sko A/S

Job Description

At ECCO, you become part of a meaningful, developing and multicultural workplace. You join a global family of more than 21,000 people who are proud to create the footprints of tomorrow.

Headquartered in Denmark, we are a family-owned company that offers international opportunities. Our offices and facilities have an informal culture and relaxed dress code – our shoe code is slightly stricter.

Join us and we guarantee lifelong learning – the speed of progress is up to you. So, if you're curious, passionate and ready to make an impact, you'll fit right in.

CAPEX Controller – be responsible for our global capital expenses

Do you want to ensure that we make sound investments across the business - whether it is in production facilities or new stores? And are you ready to become an indispensable link between our global finance leaders and our top management?

Join us as our current investment responsible is moving on to a new exciting role within ECCO. You will get the responsibility for the entire CAPEX process and management of our investment portfolio. And work on integrating ESG criteria into investment decision-making together with other colleagues.

“Every major investment in our global business goes through you. So, the decisions you're a part of shape the future of our entire company," says Morten Jensen, Director Group Business Controlling.

This role provides unique exposure to top management, cross-functional collaboration, and a platform for advancing your career in a dynamic global organisation.

You work closely with financial leaders worldwide, leveraging your analytical expertise to assess investments and provide actionable recommendations that drive global alignment

Some of your tasks will be to:

  • Analyse all larger business cases and Investment Requests and provide financial recommendations
  • Own the Digital Investment Request App and Group Investment Policy and lead the enhancements of our tools and processes, ensuring alignment with our evolving business needs and strategic goals
  • Deliver in-depth analyses of forecasts, set investment targets, and provide strategic recommendations to our Group Senior Leadership, shaping the allocation of resources across the business
  • Collaborate with Group Sustainability to develop and implement investment controls and templates that ensure alignment with regulatory and sustainability expectations
  • Conduct reviews of selected investments to assess their performance against business plans and objectives

Working with a diverse range of stakeholders across the globe, your cultural adaptability and ability to build trust will be key to driving successful investment decisions. You know as well as we do that not all the answers are found in the numbers. At the same time, you have a keen analytical eye when it comes to assessing the requests.

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

  • Have some years of experience with financial or business controlling
  • Have a keen eye for details when providing and maintaining overviews of the documentation all the way through the investment process
  • Might have experience integrating ESG criteria into investment decision-making and reporting
  • Have experience working with SAP and Power BI systems
  • Are fluent in English – Danish is not a requirement

You will join our Group Business Controlling team – today consisting of 8 people with 5 nationalities. Some of us are former graduates, and some are at a more senior level. But what unites us is how much we prioritize collaboration.

“We're not just individuals on different assignments – we think and act as a team. So, we make sure to not only support the rest of the business but also each other,” Morten continues.
