Job Description
At ECCO, you become part of a meaningful, developing and multicultural workplace. You join a global family of more than 21,000 people who are proud to create the footprints of tomorrow.
Headquartered in Denmark, we are a family-owned company that offers international opportunities. Our offices and facilities have an informal culture and relaxed dress code – our shoe code is slightly stricter.
Join us and we guarantee lifelong learning – the speed of progress is up to you. So, if you're curious, passionate and ready to make an impact, you'll fit right in.
Senior Specialist Financial Forecasting – become our global forecasting expert
Do you want to use your expertise in scenario planning to refine our finance simulations as well as our current framework for forecasting? And do you want to connect with colleagues from all over ECCO using forecasts for their work – be it within sales, business controlling, or production?
“In this new position, you'll get ample opportunity to shape how we work with forecasting,” says Morten Jensen, Director Group Business Controlling.
This role focuses on delivering, overseeing, and refining the entire financial forecasting process, ensuring seamless connection and alignment on all three financial statements. You will play a key role in connected planning, collaborating with various departments to deliver accurate and strategic financial projections. Strong financial acumen combined with strong communication skills will be essential in continuously improving processes, leading forecasting discussions, and ensuring forecasts align with business objectives.
Furthermore, you will ensure that our forecasting process is transparent and that we maintain a high data integrity within the various tools used.
Among other things, you will:
- Use forecasting tools and AI to convert various data points, information, and existing forecasts into group forecasts and present these to our Senior Leadership Team
- Contribute to ensuring that our planning follows consumer trends by converting market demands into financial forecasts
- Revisit and update our monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecast predictions up to 24 months ahead of time
- Assist in building forecasting capabilities across the business, e.g., by facilitating workshops – we do not expect an extensive amount of travel for this
- Regularly review and refine forecasting tools, methodologies, and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency
You are open-minded and tech-savvy when trying out new forecasting tools. And you make a point out of communicating clearly when presenting your forecasts to colleagues at different levels of our organisation – thereby easing the decision-making for e.g., top management.
We also imagine that you:
- Have a strong finance acumen with minimum 3-5 years of experience within finance simulations and data modelling, preferably from an FP&A department – and maybe even from a consumer-centric field
- Are skilled in driving what-if-scenario forecasting to improve flexibility, deciding what drivers lead to different financial outcomes
- Have experience with planning tools such as Anaplan,
- Have a high proficiency in English – Danish is not a requirement
You will join our Business Controlling team – today consisting of 8 people with 5 nationalities. Some of us are former graduates, and some are at a more senior level. But what unites us is how much we prioritise collaboration.
“We're not just individuals on different assignments – we think and act as a team. So, we make sure to not only support the rest of the business but also each other,” Morten continues.
