Job Description
At ECCO, you become part of a meaningful, developing and multicultural workplace. You join a global family of more than 21,000 people who are proud to create the footprints of tomorrow.
Headquartered in Denmark, we are a family-owned company that offers international opportunities. Our offices and facilities have an informal culture and relaxed dress code – our shoe code is slightly stricter.
Join us and we guarantee lifelong learning – the speed of progress is up to you. So, if you're curious, passionate and ready to make an impact, you'll fit right in.
Senior Business Controller – shape your role and gain global exposure
Are you looking for a job that you can tailor to your particular interests? And do you want to join the department where all our global finance insights come together as we dig out the story behind the numbers?
Join us as our current senior business controller is moving on to a new exciting role within ECCO. In the role you will collaborate with colleagues from all around the world while also getting the chance to immerse yourself from commercial to cost controlling.
“In this role you will have the opportunity to specialise in a particular area or enjoy a variety of tasks. And if you aspire to grow into a finance management position abroad, this could be possible too,” says Morten Jensen, Director Group Business Controlling.
Together with the team of business controllers, you will support senior management and other business partners with in-depth financial analysis that will form the foundation for their decision-making. The Business Controller position requires independent and self-supporting execution of tasks.
Among other things, you will:
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, providing key insights into the company's financial performance
- Monitor financial KPIs and variances on Group, market or channel level, on all three financial statements, identifying areas of concern or opportunities for improvement
- Generate timely, accurate, and insightful management reports and explanations for senior leadership
- Support the annual budgeting process as well as the forecasting processes, working closely with markets and department heads to get e.g. a sound financial forecast (budget)
- Share your knowledge with stakeholders across markets – from production facilities to colleagues working in the commercial field
This position offers the opportunity to go beyond traditional finance, working cross-departmentally to understand the 'why' behind the numbers.
You'll provide senior management with valuable insights, identifying risks and opportunities that drive strategic decision-making and shape the future of the business. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders across the globe, your cultural adaptability and ability to build trust will be key.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
- Have some years of experience with business controlling – not necessarily from our industry
- Are enthusiastic about working in an international environment, with the opportunity to grow into a finance management position abroad
- Thrive in a role where you gather and share data and knowledge with many parts of our organisation – and you know how to create and preserve good working relationships
- Have the ability to lead or participate in cross-functional projects as required
Are fluent in English – Danish is not a requirement
You will join our Group Business Controlling team – today consisting of 8 people with 5 nationalities. Some of us are former graduates, and some are at a more senior level. But what unites us is how much we prioritise collaboration.
“We're not just individuals on different assignments – we think and act as a team. So, we make sure to not only support the rest of the business but also each other,” Morten continues.
