Student (m/f/d) for a final thesis Efficient Data Encoding for Distributed Smart Sensors


  • Investigate data encoding techniques in the context of sensor data.
  • You will be responsible for developing prototype algorithms for data-driven compression techniques (lossy and lossless).
  • Specifically address the sensory context, focusing on sensor data from low-power devices.
  • Examine systematically the accuracy of the encoding strategy that you defined.
  • You will explore and apply novel techniques from the latest scientific literature.

  • You are pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • You have know-how in working with Python, prior experience in microcontroller programming is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in statistical data analysis and a solid foundation in signal processing are essential.
  • Your English is fluent, German language skills are a plus.
  • Self-management, communication skills, and the ability to work independently complete your profile.
