We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Local IM Support specialist (m/f/d) to join our team in Hamburg. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance with IT systems and applications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations within the local office, enabling our employees to perform their tasks effectively. You will be a part of a global IT support team that will ensure that our solution is up and running 24/7.

In this position, you will be working as the Local IM Support. You will be responsible for providing hands-on support, managing hardware and software installations and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. You succeed in this role with a combination of solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, troubleshooting and strong communication skills.

The work is very independent and team intensive at the same time as you are communicating with business stakeholders, supplier counterparts, team members from other functions and teams to get common understanding about requirements and a solution to be provided. The Local IM Support report to the Regional Delivery Manager. The work location of this position is in our office in Hamburg. This position will also require some travel to our offices in Bremen and Bremerhaven.


  • Technical support, on-site and remotely, to MacGregor's end-users, covering a wide range of IT issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and company-specific applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and service requests, escalating complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary
  • Install, configure and maintain telecommunications, computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning optimally
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees, providing IT orientation and setting up their workstations
  • Maintain accurate records of IT support activities, including incident reports, service requests, and inventory management
  • Ensuring that global policies and procedures are in place and followed

Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, are key to success. Skills and experience that would help you succeed in your duties:

  • Bachelor's Degree in suitable academic area, or equal experience
  • Proven experience in a similar IT support role, preferably within a multinational organisation may compensate for lack of education
  • At least 5 years of experience with troubleshooting and resolving IT issues related to common applications (e. g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers, email clients)
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications management, computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Chromebook), and networking concepts
  • Relevant IT certifications (e. g., CompTIA A+, Google & Microsoft certifications, ITIL) are a plus
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
