  • Support of the process-oriented GSC departments Global Planning & Master Data, Logistics and ITIL by providing consulting services, methods and other supporting services required to fulfil their roles successfully
  • Optimisation and implementation of customs and excise tax related processes across the German domain to meet changing regulatory requirements and to avoid breaches of law
  • Monitoring of EU and national legislation (DE) on customs and excise tax law with regard to business processes and flows of goods
  • Fulfilment of company and customs requirements in terms of simplified customs clearance of goods, reporting, reconciliation of specific procedures
  • Initiating and contributing to customs related projects
  • Representing the department and CoE Customs & Foreign Trade as stakeholder and contributor in projects which affect customs and/or excise tax procedures
  • To account for the timely and factually correct payment of customs duties, import VAT and excise taxes towards authorities in Germany (in total > 4 bn EUR annually)
  • Heading ECB function and deciding on export requests based on analysis conducted by ECB staff, collecting and following up on KPIs such as response time & number of checks conducted. Safeguarding compliant filing of checks. Presenting annual report to CECO, ECO and his deputy
  • Be the first contact to Customs Compliance for all such matters affecting DE with regard to the holding and movement of goods, Pro-actively support and coordinate the implementation changes and the collaborate with in- and external partners
  • Being the people manager for a team of 4 DE Staff Members and dealing with all people management related topics.

  • Economics or technical degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience on position connected with customs area (if economic degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on position connected with customs area (if technical degree)
  • Sufficient knowledge of the European Union customs law regulations, issues connected with excise tax, customs procedures, export procedures and goods flow regulations
  • A logical approach along with a genuine desire to seek information from various sources and use it proactively
  • Computer skills (MS Office, SAP R/3 system)
  • Perseverance in pursuing the set objectives
