About the position
The assignment focus is on process improvement within Abbott Transfusion Medicine Area Finance team, supporting the Finance Manager with month end activities and developing automated reports enabling commercial decision making.
During the assignment, the intern receives mentoring and coaching within an international finance department, as well as, an opportunity to engage with experienced global business leaders in the healthcare industry.
The position is available from January 1st, 2025
- Preparation and consolidation of periodic business performance reports. That would include Sales Analysis by country, profitability by country and line of business. Identify performance trends and report findings to commercial stakeholders.
- Support in the Month End Closing and Forecasting process. Assist Transfusion Finance Manager with preparing monthly management review decks.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation. Work with commercial stakeholders on developing data analytics tools.
- Analysis of main variances vs Plan and latest best estimate. Work with regional controlling team on identifying drivers of performance. Present finding to Area Controller and Finance Manager
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as applicable.
- Preferred education or background: Accountancy/ Controlling/ Financial Management/Software Engineering/Mathematics
- Computer acumen (Microsoft Office Excel and VBA, Powe BI is an advantage).
- Ideally ERP systems basic knowledge (learnt at school or other internship, preferable SAP)
- Fluent in English (both speaking and writing). German is an advantage
- Good communication skills, open to learn and develop into full-time position.
- Motivated to challenge the status quo, willing to engage with stakeholders outside finance to improve existing processes.
- Open to learn about healthcare industry and grow within an international organization.
