The Position

Boehringer Ingelheim's Global Facilities & Engineering (GFE) division is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our Global CAPEX Projects organization. Are you the one we are looking for?

As a Manager Project Controls, you will have the chance to personally evolve on a global level and act as a key function in projects. Are you ready to take on this challenge?


This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach.


  • As a Manager Project Controls, you will be reporting directly to the Head of Project Controls and working functionally with the Project Manager in charge.
  • You will play a crucial role in conducting effective controlling mechanisms for CAPEX projects, taking on the responsibility to lead a small team of Project Controls SME's and keeping everyone in the loop on the project's progress.
  • Do you have what it takes to transform cost estimation into a cost breakdown structure? In this role, you will be responsible for creating the budget baseline for project controlling and issuing monthly financial reports. You will also monitor risks, opportunities, change orders, claims, and budget transfers. You will provide monthly cost planning and forecasting reports.
  • In addition, the full project schedule, understanding the overall logic and sequence of activities will be monitored by you. Furthermore, you will be analyzing potential activity slippages and their effect on the Project Timeline.
  • You will analyze cause and effect, identify deviations from the plan, and suggest corrective measures to the Project Manager. In addition, you will monitor performance and determine improvement areas by developing key performance indicators for critical metrics.
  • Are you ready to establish work habits that make the Project Controller's function an integral, agile, and proactive building block in project execution? We are looking for someone who can seamlessly integrate the Project Controller's function into the project execution process, making it an essential and proactive component.

  • You hold a master's degree (e.g. MBA, MSc. M.Eng.) or diploma degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields
  • Bring your valuable experience from several years of working on CAPEX projects, showcasing your deep expertise in project controls
  • You are highly skilled in working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
  • You are ready to thrive in our international and interdisciplinary working environment, leveraging your global mindset
  • To connect with our diverse team, you communicate effortlessly in English and have a solid foundation in German
  • With your empathic communication style, robust analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities you make a positive impact
