We are looking for an Application Engineer (m/f/d) to join the MOLYKOTE® Specialty Lubricants team in Wiesbaden, Germany. MOLYKOTE® Brand includes broad range of specialty lubricants technology like Greases, Pastes, Oils and Anti-Friction Coatings for diverse applications in Automotive & Industrial markets.

You will be responsible for application development focusing on Anti-Friction Coatings technology (also called Dry Lubricants), working closely with customers, distributors and cross-functional global teams.


  • Drive new application development with primary focus on Anti-Friction Coatings technology. Closely collaborate with the Sales team to acquire new customers; identify and support new growth opportunities
  • Working closely with laboratory technicians as well as external laboratories, plan, generate and analyze technical data to support customer's and market needs
  • Support commercialization projects through full stage gate process and acceleration of product launches in cooperation with Sales and Marketing
  • Develop and deliver technical trainings based on customer's and channel partner's needs
  • Deliver high quality technical reports and submit patent disclosures if applicable
  • Champion global collaboration to ensure key technical development learnings are shared mutually between the regions
  • Represent MOLYKOTE® technologies at Industry Conferences including paper talks and publications
  • Prepare/contribute to creation of product literature, sales tools and case stories
  • Be Safety Champion in all areas. Demonstrate and promote Safety behavior during daily work

  • Business fluency English and German
  • Degree (PhD or M.Sc.) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Focus on Tribology and/or Coating technology is highly desired
  • Work experience in the industry. Proven examples in customer facing technical roles
  • Experience in coatings/paints, surface treatment, tribology and/or lubricants is a plus

  • Travel up to 25% of time within EMEA region mainly
