Recipharm in Wasserburg am Inn (60 km south-east of Munich) is a leading sterile manufacturing facility.
The Wasserburg facility is a centre of excellence for lyophilisation in vials with highly automated, state of the art equipment. Aseptic small volume liquid filling into vials or ampoules is also offered. A large range of vial and ampoule sizes are available in flexible batch sizes.
The Finance Director plays a pivotal role in the financial stewardship and strategic planning of the organization as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in Wasserburg am Inn and in very close cooperation with the Site Director and global colleagues. This position is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the local company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support business growth and operational efficiency. The role has disciplinary responsibility for the finance, controlling and accountancy team of currently 7 FTEs.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheets and cash-flow statements.
- Develop and implement robust financial strategies, forecasts, and budgets that align with the company's strategic goals.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making. Also, monitor and analyse financial metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, manage financial risk through the implementation of controls and processes.
- Deliver comprehensive financial and management reporting, statutory accounting, performance measurement and control information to all aspects of the Business.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend initiatives to improve financial performance.
- Establish appropriate processes/systems to ensure effective financial and business controls are maintained in compliance with company and statutory requirements.
- Monitor Assets Returns, (variable and fixed costs) and margins – “Box Views”.
- Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- To contribute to safety performance by ensuring that the Health, Safety and Environmental policy is observed and in compliance with cGMP as appropriate.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience in the CMO/pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of controlling systems and instruments as well as accounting (IFRS and HGB)
- High level of understanding of operational processes and their valuations as well as financing instruments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Fluency in English & German
- Some global travel may be required
