University professorship (all genders) for AI applications in diagnostic radiology at pay scale W2 in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS

This position (reference number FK03-316/2) is initially to be filled for 5 years from the next possible date.
- Application of artificial intelligence methods in diagnostic radiology, including nuclear medicine procedures and interventional radiology.
- Development of methods and tools in automated quantitative image data analysis
- Networking of the fundamentals of AI-supported computer science methods and applied radiology science
- Joint development and support of the infrastructure for research with radiological data at the UKE and in the collaboration framework of national university medicine RACOON
- Strengthening of the cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine, the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS
- Development and design of collaborations with science and industry
Teaching commitments
Teaching load according to the Teaching Obligation Regulation for Hamburg Institutions of Higher Education [LVVO] in its currently valid version. A reduction in the teaching load is governed according to Sections 15 et seq. LVVO.
- Eligibility requirements in accordance with Section 15 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act [HmbHG]: a degree and/or doctorate in health informatics or a related subject and proof of a postdoctoral teaching qualification or equivalent achievement
- Proof of outstanding publications in one of the numerous image-data-supported AI applications in clinical radiology, e.g. cardiovascular and quantitative metabolic diagnostics
Further criteria:
The professorship aims to support outstanding scientists who are seeking a productive future in the field of AI research in university institutions by linking university and non-university research.
Experience in research in the fields of applied AI in healthcare and the successful acquisition of research contracts, in particular in the industrial sector and from public funding organisations, will be highly rated.
