- Conduct metallographic sample preparation and microscopy analysis using optical microscopes.
- Perform chemical and mechanical testing on materials produced via additive manufacturing (AM).
- Carry out metal powder testing and analysis.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment regularly to ensure safe and effective functionality.
- Provide high-quality technical data in support of large and complex technical projects.
- Adapt to new methodologies for testing and analyzing AM materials.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and calibration service providers to ensure all lab equipment remains calibrated and maintained as scheduled.
- Participate in powder management, including inventory, goods receipt, processing (sieving, blending, movement), and sampling.
- Identify and report any issues related to equipment, facility, or processes that could impact health and safety and suggest improvements.
- Manage procurement of laboratory consumables and services as needed.
- Completed vocational training as a materials tester or comparable job-related training; technical training with relevant lab experience is ideal.
- Proficiency in sample preparation for materials testing.
- Proven experience in a laboratory environment with familiarity in handling test equipment.
- Chemical knowledge and experience working with metal powders is advantageous.
- Strong German and English language skills (written and spoken).
