We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Finance & Accounting to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and directing various financial aspects of our organization, ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for the general ledger accounting of the exocad entities:

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to US-GAAP
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements according to HGB
  • Preparation and processing of month-end closing entries, such as accruals, prepaids, deferred income and payroll
  • Creation of monthly financial statements for our subsidiary in the US
  • Preparation of monthly account reconciliations in Blackline
  • Assessment of business transactions and related accounting treatment
  • Reconciliation of GAAP to Stat variances
  • Processing and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly flux analysis
  • Cooperation with the Align Corporate Accounting Team
  • Contact person for external auditors and tax consultants
  • Continuous improvement of finance and accounting processes to comply with Align policies
  • Coordination of finance and accounting matters with other departments such as customer service, marketing, and sales
  • Collaboration with the exocad America team in the US
  • Project work

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration with major electives in finance/accounting or equivalent (e. g. qualified accountant)
  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in an accounting role
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles according to US-GAAP and German HGB
  • Basic knowledge of VAT law desirable
  • Basic knowledge of tax law is an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of SAP, ideally S4 HANA
  • Very good proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • High level of responsibility and reliability
