To support our team in Martinsried near Munich, we are looking for suitable candidates for this full-time and permanent position, to begin work as soon as possible.


We are seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure / IT Operations Specialist (gn) to join the Information and Business Technology (IBT) department with a strong focus on M365 technologies and a commitment to security. This role is part of the IT Operations Team and involves ensuring reliability and security of systems and aligning infrastructure strategies with business goals.

The responsibilities in this position include the following:

  • Utilize your knowledge of network concepts, servers, firewalls, storage systems and cloud services to support our infrastructure ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
  • Manage and enhance our M365 environment in the cloud (Security, EntraID, Azure B2B, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange etc.) as well as on premise (Active Directory, Exchange, Access Rights and Identity Management, …) through proactive monitoring, best practices implementation and maintenance.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring service delivery aligns with our strategic goals and security standards.
  • 2nd and 3rd level support, incl. vendor escalations as internal service provider for the business.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and introduce new technologies and tools to improve system performance and enhance employee productivity with cyber security in mind.
  • Act as informal leader and mentor of the IT Operations team, providing oversight and guidance on internal projects and ticket management. Help organize and prioritize team tasks to ensure efficient project execution and resource allocation while fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Participate in M&A activities, providing technical insights and support during integration processes.
  • Create documentation and processes for infrastructure qualification and validation activities in close alignment with our Quality Management and Computer System Validation experts.
  • Close collaboration with other IT functions (esp. IT Security) for implementing and operating IT business solutions.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management or IT operations. In-depth knowledge of networks, firewalls, storage systems, server management, cloud technologies, and security best practices within the M365 environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments in intercultural and interdisciplinary projects.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly and identify potential solutions to solve complex problems. Ability to think creatively and outside the box to overcome challenges.
  • Maintain a holistic view of IT operations, understanding how each component fits into the overall business strategy.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally GxP (process design and documentation for infrastructure qualification and validation activities).
  • Experience with participation in Audits and inspections with Regulatory Authorities are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions even when faced with incomplete information.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging IT technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them.
  • Independent, results oriented and pro-active working style.
  • Good English language skills both written and spoken (minimum B2 level)
  • Valid German work permit is mandatory
