About the role: As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures to support data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for the development of scalable data solutions, ensuring data quality and accessibility across the entities. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, cloud platforms, and data warehousing solutions
  • You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process large volumes of data efficiently
  • You will be responsible for optimizing our current data architectures to support data integration, storage and retrieval
  • Manage Azure-based infrastructure to support data engineering needs and optimize cloud resources for cost and performance
  • Design, develop, and maintain 'Infrastructure as Code' scripts using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform etc.
  • Work closely with data analysts and other business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide data solutions
  • Implementing data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of the data will be part of your responsibilities
  • Implement monitoring solutions to track the health and performance of cloud infrastructure and data pipelines
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards through automated checks and policies
  • You will be responsible for guiding and mentoring junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes, architectures and workflows is also part of your responsibilities

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data engineering or a related field
  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data warehousing, ETL processes, and related fields
  • You have a high technical and digital affinity, and have good experience in SQL, Python, ETL tools, cloud platforms (Azure) and data warehousing solutions
  • You have strong problem solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • You are a team player who works enthusiastic about your work, open-minded and responsible
  • You are fluent in English. German is a plus
