For our Global Innovation Hub, we are looking for a Construction Industry New Business Development Manager (f/m/d). The position is based in Leimen, near Heidelberg, Germany, and reports to the position Director Global Innovation Hub.
As a Construction Industry New Business Development Manager, you will work within our Global Innovation Hub as an expert in the development & scaling of new business areas in the field of sustainable, innovative products and solutions in the construction industry. In addition, you will be responsible for building a global innovation network to foster new ideas and business models.
This position requires an excellent understanding of potential opportunities as well as the ability to evaluate, communicate, and scale its added value for Heidelberg Materials. We create a place where inputs, ideas and new opportunities generated by our global network and beyond the traditional business units can be collected, reviewed, aligned with corporate strategy, and implemented across the Group.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
Responsible for identifying and scaling new business and entrepreneurial opportunities in the sustainable construction market value chain
Develop and communicate compelling business cases and value propositions for market implementation
Building a strong network with partners from the construction industry to research, develop and implement innovative ways and opportunities for sustainable construction
Fostering the spirit of innovation and mentality within our company
Develop appropriate proposals and coordinate with legal experts at both country and group level
Compilation of technical-economic assessments in different levels of detail, depending on the maturity of the project under development
Optimization of current inputs and processes for the implementation of the goals of our sustainability strategy through partnerships and (external) collaborations (reduction of time to market, risk mitigation, use of synergies) for specific projects
Creation of a structured process for gathering internal and external experience, products, solutions, etc. in close cooperation with various departments within the company, commercial managers as well as other countries
Creation and sharing of best practices for selection and their conversion into added value for Heidelberg Materials
YOUR PROFILE
You have a technical university degree in business administration/economics and 5-8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the construction industry
Proven track record to pro-actively develop and scale new business opportunities
Industry experience in corporate development of innovative, sustainable solutions
Strategic thinking and planning, keen sense for business applications, even in poorly defined initial situations
Analytical thinking and curious about innovative technologies and partnerships
Dynamic attitude, high level of self-management, project management and the ability to work in parallel in very diverse teams
Proactive "can-do mentality" as well as openness to new solutions and curiosity
Entrepreneurial thinking, social skills, active listening, critical questioning
Excellent communication skills to present compelling and clear value propositions
