Join us within our Power Transmission & Distribution team as

Lead Power System Engineer (m/w/d)

with relevant industrial experience to lead and supervise system studies.

The ideal candidate already comes with experience in a team leader role and has a very good understanding of the power and energy system modelling context. The candidate should furthermore take an active role in further developing the Power Systems team and lead on sales activities in this area.

In our interdisciplinary project teams you will work on projects for a sustainable power supply with high shares of renewable energies. Typical projects would be in the field of energy transmission and distribution systems, grid connection of Solar PV, Wind, Hybrid and BESS power plants as well as green hydrogen plants.

The team is based in our Munich office, however, the option of working in our Fontainebleau (France), Madrid (Spain), Bremen, Essen, Berlin or Hamburg office will be considered for the right candidate.


  • Lead, supervise and quality check Power System Studies
  • Network modelling of full national transmission grids, local distribution and industrial grids, island grids or large-scale off grid hybrid systems
  • Liaison between system studies, network design and energy system modelling
  • Prepare, check and approve detailed technical reports
  • Mentor, coach and develop team members
  • Project management of complete study projects as well as of work packages
  • Provide support for proposal preparation
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with team, clients and stakeholders

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialisation
  • Ideally at least seven years of relevant experience
  • You have in-depth knowledge of power network simulations in the following fields:
    • Grid Integration Studies
    • Steady-state Studies
    • Dynamic and transient simulations
    • Grid Code compliance
    • Power Quality Studies / Harmonics Studies and Filter Design
    • Software experience in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, NEPLAN, ETAP and/or PSCAD
  • Experience in the following fields would be of benefit:
    • Energy System Master Planning with PLEXOS
    • Grid connection of Renewable Energy Plants and Large Scale Battery Storage Systems (BESS)
    • High Voltage and Extra High Voltage Systems
    • Knowledge of the typical components of high and medium voltage systems
  • Power system protection, schemes and devices
  • You are fluent in English. Proficiency in German or French is a benefit
  • Previous experience of working in a consulting environment would be a benefit
  • You are used to working flexibly, independently and reliably in a team
  • You focus on quality and ensuring excellence of deliverables for both project reports and proposals
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in particular considering email correspondence, technical report writing and presentations
  • You are able to work in a fast-paced environment, often working on multiple projects at any one time.
  • We serve projects in worldwide locations so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with travelling internationally for meetings and/or presentations
