As an IoT & Instrumentation Engineer for BDTI, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the connect layer and remote edge management components of digital twin solutions. Your role involves expertise in instrumentation, sensor technology, communication protocols, and signal processing to ensure seamless connectivity and remote management of assets in digital twin environments.

  • IIoT Solution Design: Design and implement the ideal industrial IoT solution for Digital Twin applications, including developing seamless data flow between local machine data and the cloud environment. Exposure to industrial DataOps and IIoT platforms is desirable.
  • Sensor Integration: Develop standards alongside the measurement and controls team to integrate machine measurement readings from various sensors and PLC systems into the Digital Twin cloud environment.
  • Remote Edge Management: Develop remote edge management solutions to enable efficient monitoring and management of assets deployed in remote locations (e.g. OTA updates).
  • Communication Protocols: Implement communication protocols such as OPC-UA or Modbus to ensure interoperability and compatibility of DT-IAPM solutions with existing systems.
  • Signal Processing: Apply signal processing techniques to analyze and interpret sensor data for actionable insights and decision-making.
  • Lab Extension: Extend Ludwigsburg Lab into an experience center to showcase innovative digital twin technologies and solutions.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in tools and technologies related to the connect layer of digital twin software, including Python, C++, IoT protocols, industrial protocols, Machine learning, Linux and PLC systems.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in sensor technology, communication protocols, cloud technology, or digital twin technologies are advantageous.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Languages: You are business fluent in English, other languages are welcome.
