For our office in Berlin Mitte we are looking for a

Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

Be part of our financial accounting team to deliver the financial reporting for LB GmbH. This is a key team in our finance function and provides the foundation for the monthly accounting and reporting of LB GmbH. The activities forms the basis for our management, statutory and regulatory reporting.


  • Support the month-end financial closing activities for our legal entities, branches, business areas and affiliated companies. Investigation, allocation and booking of standard business transactions in the main ledger, including preparing journal entries for operational activities including payroll, taxes, accruals, prepayments etc.
  • Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed on time and any open reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.
  • Review the general ledger for completeness, accuracy and compliance to maintain a strong financial control culture and adherence to documented processes, service levels and policies
  • Assist with performing analytical review of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet including adding value with insightful commentaries on movements.
  • Interact with all relevant departments (e.g. Credit Risk, Treasury, Marketing, HR) to understand the business drivers that may impact the financials of the business and ensures correct accounting treatment
  • Assist in data gathering, analysis, and presentation of financial information related to audit activity with internal and external auditors as required.

  • Successfully completed commercial training or business degree with focus on accounting or auditing
  • Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance. (no banking experience required)
  • Good accounting knowledge with some experience of IFRS (HGB not required for role)
  • Ideally ERP knowledge as well as knowledge in Oracle Fusion, Excel and other MS office products
  • Good English language skills both written and spoken (German or Dutch a plus).
