We are looking for two new positions:

R&D Engineer II

Location: Poppendorf/ Rostock (Germany)


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Knowledge and clear understanding of manufacturing processes, testing and performance characterization of hollow fibers and membrane technologies for dialyzers and their application
  • Working with engineers onsite to ensure that materials and processes are optimally designed for manufacturing and assuring targeted yields
  • Knowledge and experience on TMV and V&V, protocol and report drafting, test execution by mean of laboratory equipment and R&D spinning machine
  • dedicated laboratory and equipment for R&D testing
  • Designs, develops and implements test methods
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during testing and research
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and specifies tests to be performed
  • Compiling data and defining changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes or new testing requirements
  • Performing tests in collaboration with dedicated personnel
  • Mentoring colleagues
  • Research on the selection and processing of polymers into hollow fiber membranes
  • Drafting and management of specification and/or drawings and other documentations
  • Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results

Coordinates with other departments, and stakeholders, to ensure successful project completion


  • Bachelor's degree (BS) or Master's degree (MS) or Diploma in Chemistry, Biomedical, Biology (as Test Engineer), Mechanical Engineering (as Product Engineer) or relevant discipline from an accredited university
  • > 3 years of relevant experience in membrane science and/or filtration/cleaning knowledge and/or plastic processing industry
  • Analytical skills
  • Minitab or similar statistic tools knowledge
  • Knowledge of plastic materials and related application
  • Knowledge and experience in Six Sigma/methods for process improvement
  • Team working attitude
  • Hands-on mentality
  • German mother tongue or fluent knowledge; good command of English language
  • Willingness to travel as needed, <5%

Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical device industry and related applicable ISOs and guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience in test method validation and industrial process validation tool and techniques
  • CAD software knowledge
  • Product Life Cycle system and Design Control product development experience
  • Knowledge of fiber/membrane production processes
  • Experience in dealing with laboratory test methods
  • Project Leading skill
  • Design to cost approach and methods
