Manufacturing Design Engineer Systems (m/f/d)
Full time, permanent employment


  • Interface with Design Engineering team for the release of new products (NPI) into Manufacturing or product transfers from other regions
  • Involved in product Enhancement/CIP and evaluate the design for manufacturability and reliability by participating in design reviews and support assembly and testing of first prototypes
  • Systematically analyze technical manufacturing and field issues by applying 8D method and present concepts and solutions to field support team or management for standardization
  • Provide fly and fix support on field escalations for analysis/resolution on any issue requiring in-depth knowledge on the product
  • Perform First Article qualifications for parts and obsolescence components
  • Drive continuous improvement to minimize manufacturing cycle time/quality issues
  • Creating ECO (Engineering Change Orders), structuring BOMs and creating test and assembly documentation as needed
  • Generate and maintain process and equipment work instructions, drawings, and other production documents to conform to specifications
  • Work with Quality and Purchasing departments resolving component/part quality problems, driving overall supplier quality improvements and cost reductions

  • Bachelor/Master's in Physics / Electronics/ Mechatronics, preferably between 1 - 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to understand the working principle of complex electro-opto-mechanical assemblies for high precision metrology and inspection equipment and how they relate to system performance
  • Understanding in the areas of Optics, Sensors, Pneumatics, control systems, mechanics and Computers involved in high complex semiconductor systems is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to support technical issues, set-up experiments, and perform data analysis
  • Ability to read technical drawings, understand BOMs, and use a variety of precision testing and measuring Instruments to diagnose issues that cause system level failure
  • Excellent project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • A self-driven individual with keen technical mind, positive attitude and strong team player
  • Up to 10% of international travel may be expected
