  • strategic international purchasing of raw materials, goods, services, production auxiliary and operating resources in series production

  • ensuring uninterrupted global supply for series production of all Carl Zeiss Meditec sites

  • continuous improvement of prices, purchasing conditions, general conditions and processes

  • escalation with suppliers in case of supply issues and cost issues

  • creation and maintenance of purchasing info records and other standard purchasing master data in SAP and other ERP systems

  • collaboration on Zeiss group level, esp. regarding bundling potentials

  • participation in internal and external audits if needed

  • development and reporting of purchasing-relevant KPIs

  • professional leading of sub-project teams

  • sponsorship for interns


  • completed university degree (e.g. Bachelor) with min. 6 years strategic purchasing experience or commercial education combined with min. 9 years of professional experience in strategic purchasing

  • purchasing experience with various direct materials, e.g. photonics, electronics, mechanics, laser

  • advanced experience with creation and negotiation of contracts

  • business German and business English fluent (both min. C1)

  • additional foreign language skills would be an advantage

  • flexibility, assertiveness, strategic mindset

  • negotiation skills, goal-oriented communication skills

  • application-ready knowledge of SAP-MM

  • very good knowledge of MS Office

  • willingness to travel both national and international
