MANAGING DIRECTOR CTO CHINA | German Hidden Champion | High-Tech Films (m/f/x)


As the General Manager for China, you will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership of all manufacturing and sales operations. You will work closely with the headquarters in Germany to develop and implement long-term strategies tailored to the Chinese market, optimizing production processes to ensure the highest levels of quality and efficiency. You will also be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture that is transparent, compliant, and development-focused.

Besides Production and Sales, you will be in charge of all other Business Units such as Supply Chain Management as well as R&D, Human Resources and Administration. Moreover, you will decide about the investments into the site and the technical equipment. In this role, you will also oversee sales efforts, nurture strategic partnerships, and ensure strict adherence to local regulations while maintaining strong relationships with regional authorities.

With full P&L responsibility, you will drive the achievement of financial targets and report directly to the CEO and owner in Germany. You will work at the production site in Guangzhou and be responsible for approximately 70 employees who you will lead, develop and motivate together with your colleagues.


You have completed a degree in Business Administration or in a technical field and already have experience in management of a site at an international company. Knowledge of local Chinese law and technical knowledge, for example, in packaging, films or plastics will be an advantage. You are a dynamic leader with extensive experience in managing manufacturing operations and an in-depth understanding of the Chinese market. With a strong command of Mandarin and fluency in German or English, you excel at negotiating in high-stakes environments. You possess a solid track record in leading high-qualified people, particularly in industries such as nonwoven fabrics, roll goods, plastics, chemicals, or related fields.

You have spent significant time working in Western business environments, ideally with a European background or experience working with European headquarters. Your financial acumen is sharp, with hands-on experience in P&L management, budgeting, and reporting. You are also familiar with local regulations and compliance requirements in China, ensuring your operations run smoothly within the legal framework.
You are either already living in China or are passionate about Asia and willing to relocate there. You communicate and read in Mandarin or Cantonese as well as in German or English.
