WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The BOXER 8x8 is the leading armoured vehicle with a multi-national user background that has been developed in a joint co-operation programme between Germany and the Netherlands by the international consortium ARTEC GmbH in Munich, Germany. ARTEC is a joint-venture of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG, Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. It is the prime contractor responsible for the BOXER Programme, the co-ordination of series production and the focal point for export opportunities. Annual sales are normally between 200 and 300 million EUR and as of June 2023 more than 1,300 BOXER vehicles have been contracted. Further large-scale projects are in the pipeline.
Parts of the BOXER System Safety Engineer role:
- Preparation, execution and completion of follow-up for meetings with prime contractors and customers in terms of product safety
- Workshops with customers addressing individual topics or the entire vehicle
- Support and deputy of ARTEC Safety Manager
- Independent review of safety analyses incl. advice for creation, cooperation in, and maintenance of FTAs, FMEA, FMEDA etc.
- Management of safety related interfaces of different systems
- Maintenance and use of systems engineering management tools (e.g. DOORS)
- Conducting reviews of safety artefacts
- Conducting security artifact reviews. Ensuring compliance.
- Checking compliance with all safety aspects and conformity with the approval documents when vehicles are delivered
- Master's degree in electronics or electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar
- At least three years of professional experience in the desired field of work or related areas
- Experience in systems engineering Knowledge of homologation, safety of use and/or accident prevention is an advantage
- Good knowledge of the relevant safety standards, e.g. Mil-STD 882E, IEC 61508 and/or ISO 26262
- Knowledge of Reliability Workbench and requirements databases (e.g. DOORS) is an advantage
- Good written and spoken English
- Good analytical skills and a holistic view of problem solving
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with new standards, topics and technologies
