GEA Group Services GmbH in Düsseldorf takes over the corporate functions of GEA AG, including areas such as corporate finance, legal and IT, which provide central services for all company divisions. The location also houses the Digital HUB and the Center of Excellence (CoE).

We are looking for experienced and motivated Vice President External Reporting (f/m/d) for the location Düsseldorf as soon as possible.

  • Design, manage and implement the external reporting and an efficient group-wide reporting process at all levels

  • Compile group financial statements

  • Provide data for capital market communication

  • Support other Finance units and provide expert advice to the business in specific external accounting questions

  • Implementation of new legal requirements related to external accounting

  • Ensure compliance with external accounting standards and GEA Group accounting policies

  • Set up guidelines in line with applicable accounting standards, practice and decisions and make sure that accounting policies are exercised in an optimized way for GEA

  • Help to provide relevant systems to capture data need of GEA Group at all levels, translate Business requirements for reports into system requirements and ensure a strong interface to IT to build the required systems

  • Take a key position in projects (e.g. SAP transformation) with a direct impact on GEA Groups reporting systems

  • Manage, structure and optimize the group-wide external audit process including corresponding matters of the audit committee

  • Gatekeeper for the adjustment of GEA's main alternative performance measures

  • Foster a culture of innovation, using new tools and methods to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of reporting (e.g. Generative AI, Data Analytics)


  • University, Master's degree ideally with focus on finance/ accounting

  • Ideally Certified German public accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer/in) and German Tax advisor (Failure rate around 50%)

  • several years of relevant work experience in External Reporting and IFRS and of relevant experience in Controlling and project management

  • Expert knowledge of (international) finance, tax and accounting activities, IFRS as well as related processes

  • English (proficient), preferably local language (fluent)    

  • Ability to lead internationally and/or culturally diverse teams   

  • Motivate colleagues and team to go the “extra” mile

  • Ability to network and build relationships 

  • Broad work experience with External Reporting & IFRS closing, Consolidation and relevant ERP systems

  • Affinity for relevant IT tools and software (e.g. SAP's subsidiary ledgers - SD, FI, AM, CO and disclosure management tools like Smartnotes)

  • Project management experience

  • Deep understanding of business on a broad international scale   

  • Decisive understanding also for other departments at GEA (e.g. corporate controlling, corporate tax, corporate legal, sustainability, etc.)

  • Experiences with M&A transactions and the related accounting topics

  • Very good analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
