THE POSITION:

To assume full responsibility for Roland Sales of the Piano Line Up for the Roland Piano Store Network in Germany.


Managing and developing profitable business/turnover within the country through the effective territory and customer management of all assigned dealers. Based on this, customer analysis, business and budget planning, sales and marketing execution and building a close customer relationship are clearly the main goals of this position.

Role Accountabilities:
Sales Strategy and Business Management

  • Constructs and develops Dealer Business Plans for selected dealers (Roland Piano Stores) in order to deliver sustainable and profitable sales growth
  • Independent classification of the customer structure according to classical approach via ABC analysis and according to the quality level of customer relationship (supplier, preferred supplier, partner, strategic partner)
  • Develops and delivers an effective monthly journey/call plan that optimises time with high focus on Top dealers and potential (new) development dealers
  • Constructs an agenda and the meeting preparation file for every dealer visit
  • Plans and conducts regular customer meetings and customer calls, classified by customer structure, optimized in time management, based on the monthly journey plan
  • Plans regular business review meetings with the customers
  • Implements, monitors and measures the achievement of business plans & customer budget
  • Establishes and builds relationships for the selected dealers, starting from the Managing Director over the buyer to the floor sales staff and administrative employees to drive sales growth
  • Always ready to achieve company given targets and tries to overachieve them
  • Seeks out and, if considered worth, (re-)opens new dealers in target geographical areas
  • Understands and applies the Standard Dealer Agreement
  • Ensures that within 4 weeks, but definitely before the start of the new SDA (Selective Distribution Agreement) period, all signatures are available to ensure a smooth business and delivery process
  • Identifies Product Specialist product and sales training needs and plans training time
  • Good knowledge of the product to be able to transfer information and train the dealers' sales staff
  • Has close cooperation with the European Head of Piano RPS and all internal departments in order to quickly resolve customer requests and thus exceeding the dealer's expectations at all times and not slowing down sales
  • Responsible for submitting accurate data/numbers to CRM system (SAM) esp. while typing in customer orders and as well in reports
  • Has close cooperation with the financial management in monitoring the creditworthiness and credit limits of the selected customers in his country
  • Keeps pace with the constantly changing dealer retail marketplace, anticipates market trends, competitive threats and submits accurate and timely information to the European Head of Piano RPS
  • Keeps the company car in pristine condition at all times
  • Maintains all allocated company equipment, company credit cards, etc. safe and secure at all times
  • Full dedication and responsibility on end to end problem-solving approach: my customer = my problem

Communication and Reporting

  • Communicates clearly and precisely at all levels, internally and externally
  • Seeks the direct conversation independently and refrains from communicating through parties
  • Always tries to provide a proposal for a solution when having a request to somebody
  • Addresses inquiries to Sales and Marketing always under the context: Measure - Cost - Benefit/Sales
  • Sends all dealer reports and emails correctly and on time
  • Transmits results/information on all internal queries independently, punctually and correctly
  • Carries out accurate and timely expense reports with all necessary receipts
  • Updates the Outlook calendar accurately and punctually
  • Requests holiday at least 4 weeks in advance and adheres to the holiday transfer policy
  • Plans his leave for the calendar year and tries not to take any leave days into the next year
  • Seeking for 1-2-1 meetings once a month with line manager – requests appointments

  • Sales ability
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in the music business is a plus
