Our Trading IT Team in Düsseldorf is looking for you!

The Short Term Trading Solutions department in Uniper IT is responsible for all changes in IT Systems supporting the Uniper short term trading and dispatch process. The department consist of Project Managers, Business and System Analysts and DevOps Engineers who are responsible for delivering large scale transformational projects as well as small scale, time-to-market critical Business As Usual items for commercial Power and Gas activities. Within this department we are searching for a IT Operations Lead with following responsibilities:

  • Visible and Impactful Role: You will take on a responsible and visible position within a diverse, international team of DevOps engineers, architects, and product owners/project managers.
  • End-to-End Operational Ownership: Assume end-to-end responsibility for ensuring the reliable operation and BAU change delivery of cloud-based applications in a short-term trading deal lifecycle management environment. You own the corresponding backlog and align the overall delivery priority with relevant stakeholders. This role is crucial both operationally and strategically for Uniper.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: As a technical innovator and driver, you will consistently identify and implement continuous improvement measures through rigorous performance monitoring and the definition and application of relevant quality metrics using modern tools.
  • Operational Insight and Transparency: Stay at the forefront of IT operations by ensuring transparency about its status and critical aspects. Achieve this through proactive and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Quality and Incident Management: With a strong focus on quality, you will conduct root cause analyses, extract learnings, and manage critical incidents, ensuring targeted preparation and communication.
  • Strategic Project Support: Support strategic projects as an expert, ensuring the needs and interests of IT operations for the owned applications are adequately considered, actively shaping the future of the application landscape.

  • Professional Experience: You have 3-5 years of professional experience in roles such as Application Management, Operations Analyst, or Operations Engineer, where you have honed your skills and knowledge.
  • Cloud Expertise: You are experienced with cloud-based application operations and environments, particularly with platforms like Azure, and you can leverage these technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Service Provider Management: You have a proven track record in managing internal and external service providers and teams, ensuring that all services meet high standards of quality and reliability.
  • IT Application Support Mastery: You possess broad and deep knowledge of end-to-end IT application support processes, with solid experience in application support, issue resolution, and incident management.
  • IT Operations Knowledge: You are well-versed in IT operations, including best practices from standard IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, allowing you to apply these insights to drive improvements and efficiency.
  • Analytical Excellence: Your excellent analytical skills enable you to develop a comprehensive understanding of complex problems, allowing you to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: As a logical thinker, you take ownership of problems and incidents, using your resourcefulness and creativity to resolve issues while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Independent and Collaborative Work Style: You can work independently and as part of an agile team, with a strong desire to take on responsibility and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: You have a strong analytical and structured approach to thinking, coupled with high organizational skills, allowing you to present complex topics clearly and effectively to various audiences.
  • Product Experience (Preferred): Experience with products from Volue, Kisters, ION, and PSI is a plus and will be considered favorably in this role.
