MKS in Berlin is looking for a

Compulsory Internship in Chemistry (Surface Treatment & Metallization) - as of January 2025

As a compulsory intern (m/f/d) at the Business Unit of Surface Treatment and Metallization (BU STM), you will partner with the Plating Through Hole (PTH) R&D S Team to support the development of pal-ladium-free activation systems for electroless copper plating as well as the development of electroless copper baths. In this role, you will report to the R&D Manager.

Your responsibility

  • Executing assigned tasks
  • Critically evaluating results obtained
  • Documenting results obtained
  • Presenting results to PTH R&D S Team as well as the BU STM Teams if relevant
  • Speaking up at all times!

  • You are at the end of your bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering and have to complete a compulsory internship
  • Technical understanding and experimental skills (in the laboratory)
  • Basic laboratory skills including gravimetry and titrimetry
  • Fundamental physical chemistry skills and organic chemistry skills
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Professional and situation-appropriate demeanour, structured and careful way of working
  • Communication skills, ability to work in a team, flexibility
  • Remuneration: 450 euros/month; we require the internship contract from your university before concluding the contract

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in UV/Vis spectroscopy
  • Experience in IR spectroscopy
  • Experience in electrochemistry
  • German is a plus
