Marketing Communications Manager (m/f/d)

Your mission:

The marketing manager is a key role within the School Community and will contribute to its onward success and growth. The post holder will work in parallel with the Head of Admissions in a collaborative and equal partnership to create an outstanding experience for parents and students throughout every stage of their journey with St. George's. He/she is a member of the School Senior Leadership Team.

Specific responsibility will be for the organisation, administration, and conceptual development of all business relating to the communication and promotion of the School in order to support and drive pupil recruitment and retainment at all levels, through targeted marketing initiatives and activities.

The post holder will be a true ambassador of the School, providing a professional and appropriately targeted approach to the development of links and partnerships with businesses and community contacts – the purpose and aim being to support mutual development and growth whilst raising the profile and position of the School.

The role will involve the personal interaction with local and regional partners whilst ensuring that the values and educational objectives of the School are fully comunicated in a comprehensible and engaging manner and meet with the St.George‘s values. Due to the International profile of the School, it will be essential for the post holder to be fluent in both English and German, in oral and written form.

They will be expected to work closely with the Head of the School as well as building a close working relationship with other members of the School´s Leadership Team. It is essential to involve and engage teaching, administrative and other support staff in order to fully inform and involve the whole school community in creating an outstanding experience for all audiences. Collaboration with colleagues within other schools of the St.George's School Group will also be expected, including attendance at Regional Admissions & Marketing Meetings from time to time. The post holder must be innovative and ¨out of the box thinker¨ with a hands-on attitude. He/she will also be proficient in digital marketing, social media, and omnichannel marketing campaigns.


Marketing

  • To work with the Head of School and Group Head of Marketing to produce an annual Marketing Plan (media, events, CRM) including management of the Marketing and Communications Budget.
  • To monitor expenditure according to the Marketing Plan and Budget and to recommend changes which may be required from time to time to reflect on market conditions.
  • To produce termly reports on activity and expenditure in order to monitor effective use of funds.
  • To lead the work on Parent Journey Mapping with the objective of maximizing Parent and Pupil Satisfaction and exceptional Customer Experience.


Communications

  • To support the school to devise and oversee the scope and quality of all communications (incl. newsletters and communication with parents via the school portal).
  • To forge business connections and partnerships for personal introductions to the Head of School with key employers and business developers to maximise pupil recruitment opportunities.
  • To ensure brand and corporate identity is used consistently throughout the School.
  • To ensure St.George‘s is seen as the school of choice in our local and national markets; an outstanding and easily accessible option for regional and international families
  • To establish links and to liaise with local and national communication channels (both online and offline): newspapers, magazines, specialist publications.
  • To lead the school digital efforts, including the school website, social media, digital marketing campaigns, school events, and collateral materials.
  • To create multi-media content (visual and verbal) and tone of voice
  • To make use of CRM to manage parent and pupil satisfaction through the customer journey, ensuring awareness, interest and loyalty.
  • To define customer journey experiences and tools for all customer touchpoints with the school
  • To define tools and KPIs to measure clienteling satisfaction and objectives achievement
  • To define and implement an event & activity schedule in line with the marketing communication plan
  • To develop and implement concepts and tools for different event formats (incl. existing scalable toolkits)
  • To produce and drive-through events in close co-operation with respective departments
  • To manage supplier relationships
  • To administer all event and merchandising tools
  • To understand privacy policy and related legal requirements and ensure their consideration.

Other:

  • Duties listed in this job description will be discussed with the post holder when appointed with some flexibility in order to play to the strengths of the post holder and the needs of the school.

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications or related field
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a communication expert in an international context (agency or client side).
    • Strong experience with digital marketing forms and technologies (e.g. social media and content marketing)
    • Experienced in crafting engaging customer journeys
    • Adept at crafting engaging messages and producing compelling multi-media content
    • Clear understanding of media (paid & non-paid)
    • Education industry experience is a plus
  • Skills required
