PIMCO's real estate platform is one of the largest and most diversified in the world, with over $190B in assets and a broad set of solutions that leverage decades of expertise across public and private equity and debt markets.The PIMCO Prime Real Estate GmbH („Prime“) Senior Compliance Officer (m/f/d) – AFC is to support Prime's global Chief Compliance Officer with compliance and regulatory matters, with a focus on anti-financial crime activities (anti-money laundering, bribery and corruption, sanctions) („AFC“).

This position will be based in Munich, Frankfurt or Stuttgart.


The Prime Senior Compliance Officer (m/f/d) is responsible for compliance matters in relation to Prime's real estate advisory, investment and management activities globally. The primary responsibilities include, in each case with a strong focus on Prime's global AFC program:

  • Proactively contribute to the continued improvement of Prime's compliance policies, procedures and processes, in line with the changing legal and regulatory environment.
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments globally. Assess applicability, propose and project manage solutions through to implementation.
  • Develop and implement compliance internal procedures, templates and best practices and provide guidance and support to other members of the global compliance team.
  • Design and implement the necessary risk assessments as well as ongoing testing and monitoring.
  • Perform compliance activities, in accordance with Prime's global compliance policies, with a focus on AFC due diligence processes; conduct related investigations and implement remedial measures.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business.
  • Design and deliver bespoke compliance training to Prime's employees.
  • Represent compliance & AFC in executive boards and committees. Design and ensure ongoing reporting to all relevant stakeholders and management bodies.
  • Maintain and promote communication and strong working relationships with key stakeholders within Prime and within the global PIMCO group.
  • Manage regulatory audits, coordinate remediation activities.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Support the Prime Global Chief Compliance Officer in relation to the coordination and execution of global compliance activities; Take full responsibility for one or more of the above topics, and be point of contact for local Prime Compliance Officers.

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant working experience in compliance and all relevant AFC areas, preferably with financial services and/or real estate investment background
  • A very good commercial understanding of investment and/or real estate business.
  • Experience in a global coordination role, with responsibility for monitoring of legal and regulatory changes, and for development and implementation of new policies and processes.
  • University degree, preferably a law degree.
  • Strong communication skills in English and German; Any additional language is an asset.
