Tacalyx is a biopharmaceutical company developing innovative therapeutics to target tumorassociated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs). To strengthen our team in Berlin-Adlershof, we are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-driven Research scientist.

Research Scientist (m/f/d) Cellular Assay Development

The major focus of this position is the development of cellular assays which will be used for antibody characterization.


  • Development/establishment of in vitro cancer models (2D and 3D)
  • Generation and characterization of stable knock-out cell lines (e.g. using CRISPR/Cas) and knock-in cell lines
  • Design and performance of functional cellular assays to validate mAb candidates
  • Developing and executing experiments to explore the activity and mode of action of mAb candidates
  • Analysis of carbohydrate structures in the extracellular space
  • Establishment, optimization, characterization, and validation of cell-based analytical methods
  • Analysis and interpretation of data based on project needs (R, Prism, Python)
  • Keep up to date on scientific advances in the field from literature and conferences

  • PhD degree (obtained not later than 3 years ago) in Life Sciences with focus on immunology/cell biology/oncology
  • Extensive hands-on experience in cell line engineering and flow cytometry is a must, hands-on experience in primary immune cell culture is an asset
  • Significant experience in design, execution, and analysis of cell-based assays for proliferation, cell death and killing, adhesion, migration and other immune-oncological assays is desired
  • Significant experience in 3D cell culture and extracellular vesicle isolation and analysis is a strong plus
  • Data analytics skills using R or Python is a plus
  • Ability to design and execute experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a meaningful manner
  • A high level of communication in English and a work permit for Germany (for non-EU applicants) is mandatory
