We are looking for an Adhesives Technical Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to join our team.

To support our Additives Business: Coatings & Adhesives in Gersthofen (Germany)


  • Understand and execute the Adhesives Strategic Initiatives and translation into new business projects to drive profitable new business growth
  • Development of new projects with target customers or prospects
  • Lead specific product developments (Stage Gate) and ensure needs are adequately considered in global segment strategy
  • Utilize CRM to document and communicate customer opportunities as it relates to technical initiatives, in support of Account Manager's opportunity funnels
  • Appropriately utilize Clariant's global application labs and resources to develop & test new offerings and support customer application development projects
  • Support the articulation of value proposition in marketing communications – customer presentations, literature, etc.
  • Prepare and present papers and lectures at conferences / events / fairs / online webinars, etc.

  • Degree in Chemist, Chemical engineer, or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in hot melt adhesive formulating
  • Fluency in English and German (Spanish is also desirable)
  • Self motivation and good project management skills
  • Effective communication with customers to uncover unmet needs, conduct discovery, present value propositions, to identify opportunities, and meet customer needs
