- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the Data Platform Engineering team, fostering professional growth and a culture of continuous improvement
- Platform & Cloud Architecture: Design, implement, and enhance a robust data platform leveraging AWS - Integrate diverse technologies, focusing on scalability, cost-efficiency, and innovation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data science, analytics, and product teams to align platform capabilities with business needs
- Performance Optimization: Proactively identify and address platform bottlenecks, implementing automated solutions to optimise performance
- Comprehensive Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for platform architecture, processes, and best practices
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical position
- Strong experience designing and building scalable systems, including microservices, APIs, and distributed systems utilising languages like Python or Rust
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases and data processing frameworks like Spark
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure management tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Familiarity with advanced data tools and frameworks such as Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow,
and Airbyte - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
