Job Description
Since 1962, Bavarian universities and research institutions have relied on the IT expertise of the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. When it comes to the digital transformation of science, we are traditionally ahead of the game.
- Working in a dedicated team, you will be advising researchers and academic users of an ever-growing AI service infrastructure in order to foster and optimize their system usage
- You will be providing second and third level support and consultancy to scientific users and research groups working on the forefront of AI
- You will support user and access management of the AI service infrastructure
- You will have access to latest AI and high-performance computing hardware (GPUs, CPUs, AI accelerators)
- You will be in direct contact with technology providers and developers (hardware/software) as well as national and European collaboration partners and projects
- You will find a friendly and open work environment in a highly motivated, international team with plenty of opportunities to develop your own ideas
- Proficiency working in Linux environments
- Extensive knowledge and practical skills applying Machine Learning/AI applications, frameworks, methods and models (e.g. Python, PyTorch, JAX, etc.)
- Good knowledge in configuring/working with software containers (e.g. Docker) and/or package managers (e.g. pip or Conda)
- Willingness to keep up with current developments and learn new technologies
- Good German and/or English writing and presentation skills
- Friendly personality to foster contact with academic user communities
- Master's degree in computer or data science, or other areas of scientific computing, or at least 3 years of applied data analytics and machine learning / AI experience in research environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working with/on high performance cluster systems (e.g. using workload/resource manager systems, parallel file systems, parallel model training)
- Git, GitLab, CI/CD
