We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position:

Senior Accounting Specialist (m/f/x) European Shared Services - limited to 18 months -


  • Record, post and functionally coordinate credit and debit business transactions, in particular incoming invoices taking into account local VAT regulations
  • Perform and functionally coordinate the monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger and closing activities and prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS, local commercial and tax law
  • Post and monitor payments and prepare payment runs
  • Manage open items incl. clarification of differences and algin with the business, permanent reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledgers
  • Prepare reporting packages and reporting analyses
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the EU business functions, local Finance Directors and local Finance and business staff
  • Functional contact person for local Finance Directors as well as for tax auditors, tax advisors and auditors on relevant topics
  • Participate in (sub-)projects or lead sub-projects to optimize the Accounting activities and the development of the European Finance Shared Services

  • Successfully completed studies in Business Administration or a successfully completed Finance-related professional education
  • Professional training (e.g. financial accountant or balance sheet accountant) or certification is an advantage
  • 5-7 years of experience in general ledger and sub-ledger Accounting and in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Experience in financial audit and/or experience in Finance-, Accounting-, or tax-related advisory is an advantage
  • Experience in project work in the field of finance and accounting, ideally in the environment of global business services, shared services or in transformation contexts would be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and ideally HGB, good knowledge of international VAT law desirable
  • Good knowledge of SAP R/3, SAP ECC or S/4 HANA and MS-Office
  • Business fluent written and spoken English and German language skills; languages is advantageous
  • Very good communication skills with a convincing manner
  • Very high customer orientation, ability to work and take over functional responsibility in a team
  • Ability to constructively deal with conflicts and affinity to work in an international, cross-functional and dynamic environment
