Role Summary

The role is responsible for developing and executing the regional procurement strategy, managing the Purchasing HUBs and ensuring cost-effective procurement. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive procurement excellence across the EMEA region. Further, the position has an overall supervision of project purchasing and VA/VE initiatives. In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.

Your Profile

  • Develop and implement the EMEA procurement strategy aligned with global objectives
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the regional procurement team
  • Direct line Leadership for all purchasing employees within the MANN+HUMMEL sites of the HUBs. This includes staffing, workload balancing, hiring, performance evaluations, training and qualification in alignment with respective local site management
  • Responsibility to achieve Purchasing targets (e.g. material cost and other purchasing performance KPIs).
  • Collaborate with global procurement teams to align strategies and share best practices
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards
  • Cost budget ownership, incl. planning, tracking and reporting
  • Escalation level for plant/site specific purchasing topics; incl. regional support of bottleneck management
  • Overall supervision of VA/VE, e.g. negotiations, VA/VE, material changes & supplier cost down ("ratio") projects and supplier risk management
  • Overall supervision of global project purchasing in ensuring quality (e.g. APQP), timely delivery and material cost
  • Ensuring application of PU-methods, tools, procedures and reporting
  • Build and lead "high performance" purchasing team. Ensure development of employees in hard and soft skills - e.g. legal, commercial, negotiation, technical, risk management, project management skills

Your challenge:

  • Education: Successfully completed University degree; MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing is preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of purchasing experience in a global industrial enterprise setting
  • Expertise:
    • Experience in respective materials, components, technologies, production processes and supply chain concepts
    • Excellent communication skills and understanding to manage change throughout the company
    • Proven direct and indirect leadership and team development skills
    • Good P&L and controlling knowledge
    • IT and ERP Knowledge (e.g. MS-Office, SAP or similar)
  • Language skills: Fluent in English written and spoken, further language skills would be advantageous
  • Personality:
    • Highly organized, creative and motivated team player with strong drive to succeed
    • Strong analytical and controlling skills
    • Must have the ability to interact and execute at the highest levels (including C-level)
