As Legal Counsel (all genders) with a focus on US e-commerce and data protection law, you will be part of our global legal team and support our US based subsidiaries. A coordinated training program will enable you to provide independent legal support to our subsidiaries in the operation of their platforms in the areas of dating and social entertainment. We offer you comprehensive insights into the legal issues of a globally operating digital company. Due to our integration into the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, you will work in a team of specialists who will enable you to specialize in the areas of e-commerce and data protection law.
We are looking for a Legal Counsel (all genders) in a full-time position, with immediate effect. The position is limited to 18 months.
- You have a legal education (with very good degrees) and have successfully completed a US bar exam or comparable degrees.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience as a lawyer in the US, Canada, UK or Australia.
- You have a strong online affinity and a keen interest in related legal topics. A very careful way of working
- Fluent English language skills
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- German language skills are not required but would be an advantage.
- Previous in-house experience, ideally in the tech and/or b2c industry.
- In a team of lawyers based in Germany and the US, you advise on various topics of e-commerce law (app and web) and data protection law.
- Together with external law firms, you support our product team in all online and accompanying compliance processes.
- You will assist in checking compliance with regulatory frameworks in the US, the UK, Australia and Canada.
- The main focus of your work will be US consumer, data protection and platform law as well as all new US legislative procedures in these areas; in addition, you will have points of contact with competition law in these fields.
- We do not panic and keep our sense of humour even in hectic times.
