Job Description
Operations Manager is responsible for manufacturing and related operations at Medix Biochemica site in Konstanz. Reporting directly to the VP Operations & Supply Chain, Operations Manager is a key member of Medix Biochemica Konstanz organization and Molecular Diagnostics Business Unit. Operations Manager is expected to lead and act according to the principles, values, culture and way of working established in Medix Biochemica Group.
- Responsible for leading manufacturing operations covering all off-the shelf and customized products in Konstanz site.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of manufacturing processes and participate laboratory work including protein expression in bacteria, protein purification, DNA polymerase activity testing, formulation, lyophilization and quality analysis.
- Manage procurement processes and coordinate material logistics and inventories.
- Responsible for order handling and shipping processes to ensure smooth supply chain to customers with given quality targets and customer satisfaction expectations.
- Manage facility and equipment maintenance activities.
- Create an annual operating plan for manufacturing, manage capital investments and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
- Evaluate continuously overall performance, employee productivity and satisfaction, and apply necessary improvements.
- Co-operate with R&D team to ensure successful design transfer to production.
- Implement practices in the operations according to local legislation in Germany, ISO13485 based QMS requirements and Environmental, Health & Safety policy of Medix Biochemica Group.
- 3-5 years' experience as manager in a laboratory related environment
- Experience of long-term development of operations and leading of people
- Good communication skills in English and German
- Basic understanding of laws and medical device regulated work environment
- Relevant MSc/MA or BSc/BA level degree
