The Head of Quality ensures the highest quality standards for all products and/or processes within the dedicated Business Unit TS. This role is responsible for setting strategic quality directions, managing quality assurance, leading the quality management team, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining compliance with both industry standards and customer expectations. The position is part of the Business unit leadership team with expected active role in shaping Business unit strategy and roadmap as well as full accountability for all quality results within the business unit. Being also part of the global quality leadership team rounds up the functional environment for a sustainable and impactful continuous improvement.

1. Strategic Planning and Leadership: Assure quality management systems compliance with international standards and develop quality strategy in alignment with business objectives, influencing company-wide quality perspective and practices.

2. Operational Excellence: Conduct regular product quality assessments, analyze quality trends and continuously implement measures to elevate standards. Oversee the monitoring and analysis of product quality through regular audits and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.

3. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, develop, and retain the quality management team, providing training and coaching. Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Recruit and nurture talent, ensuring a robust succession pipeline for related quality functions.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Serve as the ambassador of quality, thereby strengthening long-term customer relations and integrating quality into the business culture. Collaborate closely with R&D and production departments to enhance product quality. Build and maintain sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and cooperative efforts towards quality improvements.

5. Supplier and Customer Relations: Supervising supplier selection, audits and qualification processes, and evaluating internal and external supplier performance regularly. Address customer feedback and complaints, ensuring robust communication and resolution strategies that enhance customer satisfaction. Initiate and manage continuous improvement measures based on customer insights and product performance feedback.

6. Reporting and Documentation: Regularly report on quality metrics and performance to senior management. Document quality processes and improvements comprehensively, maintaining transparency and accountability in quality practices.

What you need is:

  • Engineering education
  • Experience in the areas of quality, manufacturing, development or after-market services in an international organization
  • Leadership experience in a matrix organization
  • Ability to involve and convince stakeholders using fact-based arguments supporting the company strategy
  • Persistency and can-do attitude with a good assessment of feasibility of initiatives
  • Fluent in English, German a big advantage
