With a fleet of 264 modern container ships and a total transport capacity of 2.0 million TEU, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world's leading liner shipping companies. In the Liner Shipping segment, the Company has around 13,500 employees and 400 offices in 135 countries. Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 2.9 million TEU – including one of the largest and most modern fleets of reefer containers. A total of 113 liner services worldwide ensure fast and reliable connections between more than 600 ports across the world. In the Terminal & Infrastructure segment, Hapag-Lloyd has stakes in 20 terminals in Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa. The roughly 2,600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment handle terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.


As EU regulations enforcing energy transition are rolled out to the shipping sector, we are facing new challenges and opportunities. For the position in question, these are connected to the regulation around EU-ETS (Emission Trading System). In a greater context, we deal with collecting, analysing and providing the required data (amount of CO2 emitted and EU Allowances (EUA) expected to become due) as accurately as possible across the whole fleet, taking into account the interests and requirements of different stakeholders. After introductory training within the department, your tasks will be:

  • Processing incoming EUA reports
  • Drawing data from software for comparison
  • E-Mail correspondence with charter owners and 3rd party ship managers
  • Assisting with following up differences in reports
  • Contributing to status overviews and evaluations

You are a good fit for this job if you:

  • Are currently studying in the field of shipping, logistics, economics, data analytics, or a similar field of study
  • Are conversant with MS Excel
  • Are interested in handling different software
  • Have a diligent way of working and pay attention to details
  • Are confident in reading and writing in English
  • Are open-minded and have a positive attitude towards challenges
  • Basic knowledge about shipping will be of advantage but is not essential if you are generally interested in the topic and in learning about the details that can influence the data
