Unit description

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Technical Planner at our location/s Hanover / Batam who will contribute to this and that might be you?

  • The first 6 months of your work you will be located in TenneT office in Hanover, Germany, where you will be on-boarded and liaise with our Project Management Team. After that, you are willing to work and live abroad in a yard location environment (Batam – Indonesia) for an extended period of time i.e project duration (4-5 years). You are willing to travel between fabrication yard in Batam, Indonesia and TenneT location in Hannover, Germany to align with the projects will be part of the task.

As Technical Planner you provide support on scheduling topics during the full project cycle of a project, especially during the fabrication of our Offshore Stations at the yard. The support includes to monitor, maintain and challenge the fabrication schedule of our Offshore Stations (BalWin4 and LanWin1) and the interfaces to other contracts (e.g. cable system). You work closely together with the Strategic Planner of the Portfolio.

  • Maintain a portfolio level schedule and its project level schedules.
  • Continuous monitoring the progress of fabrication schedule and its feasibility to execute the project within pre-set boundaries of the portfolio.
  • Assessing schedule status and impact of changes including analyzing and visualizing scenarios for reporting to management
  • Advise projects teams on implementation/execution of Earned Value Management method (time, budget and costs elements) and of risk management (probabilistic scheduling).
  • Contribute to the development of standards for project schedule set-up/progressing/reporting within project teams and 2GW program office in order to provide a best practice basis for a uniform way of working within project scheduling.


  • You have at least a Bachelor degree, e.g. in Construction, Engineering, Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or an other comparable training
  • You have at least 5 years of scheduling work experience in fabrication facilities preferably in offshore platform fabrication yard, and in complex international projects in both initiation and construction phase, engineering and construction contracts on the employer side and with offshore and/or high voltage grid projects
  • Prince2, PMP, IPMA level D or comparable project management certification is an advantage
  • You have experience with Primavera P6, MS Office, Quantitative risk analysis tools and Earned Value Management implementation
  • Comfortable with challenging our contractor's schedule progress. Ability to gathering all necessary information to maintain the portfolio level schedule and its project level schedules
  • Able to present relevant information to internal and external stakeholders, to deal with internal and external political issues within portfolio and project-level
  • You are fluent in English, additional languages (e.g. German or Bahasa Indonesia) of advantage
