Our HSSE & Sustainability team is looking for YOU!

  • Responsible for Uniper's supplier ESG risk management and ensuring compliance with mandatory supply chain due diligence legislation, including the German Supply Chain Act, EU due diligence directive, etc.
  • Work closely with commercial functions by supporting and advising them in line with ESG requirements
  • Develop mitigation measures together with the business representatives for high-risk suppliers
  • Develop and execute risk analysis results and improvement plans and inform the human rights officer accordingly
  • Support the Human Rights Officer with investigations of alleged ESG violations that Uniper becomes aware of, via its established complaints mechanisms
  • Participate in NGO sessions concerning supply chain topics and coordinate with stakeholder engagement manager and Human Rights Officer to address concerns
  • Report on high visibility projects and strategies in the supply chain that could pose an ESG risk to Uniper and recommend prevention and mitigation measures
  • Maintain awareness of current and upcoming ESG legislation -national, EU-level and international -particularly on human rights, identifies gaps and assists with the implementation of necessary measures to maintain compliance
  • Represent Uniper in industry initiatives to support the development of the group's sustainability agenda

  • University degree in law, sustainability or engineering
  • Experience in conducting ESG risk analysis or KYC assessments
  • Knowledgeable stakeholder-oriented sustainability management
  • Experienced in defining and implementing cross-functional processes
  • Basic knowledge of energy trading and international commodity markets
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and assess compliance implications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Display curiosity and openness to learning and self-development, with an ability to think creatively to find effective solutions
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in German and knowledge of other languages is a plus
