Our department leads the development of BMW's current and next generation Software Platform for automated driving. We are responsible for testing the base system including operating system, middleware, and system functions on top of which all autonomous driving functionality is built upon. The platform is a multi SOCs Software Platform, including POSIX operating system, middleware and BMW specific infrastructure components, with the goal of reusability and extensibility across generations.

What awaits you?

  • For the POSIX Software Platform, you are responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and optimizing the automated test framework and tooling using the state-of-the-art technologies like artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Governance and steering of the CI/CD/CT test pipelines in GitHub and working closely together with CI and DevOps will be part of your daily tasks.
  • You design, develop and further extent tools for our testing environment using the latest technologies including AI.
  • You are responsible for the conception and continuous further development of test tooling with the aim of maximizing the automation of test selection, execution, and pre-analysis.
  • Furthermore, you develop meaningful metrics and - based on these - monitor the quality of rolled-out platform software.

What should you bring along?

  • University degree in computer science, business informatics, automotive engineering, or similar qualifications.
  • At least 5 years of experience in testing, quality assurance or IT project management, preferably in the automotive context.
  • Advanced knowledge in automated testing (CI/CD).
  • Professional experience in agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban and in the usage of task tracking systems such as JIRA.
  • Experience in testing of embedded software and knowledge of automotive software/hardware architectures is a plus.
  • Backend/cloud expertise (preferably AWS) is a plus.
  • ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level desirable.
  • Business-fluent English, German is a plus.
