Meo Carbon Solutions is an independent consulting company focusing on sustainability advancement. We support public and private sector clients worldwide in the strategic orientation and implementation of goal-oriented measures towards more sustainable production pathways and ecologically and socially responsible business activities. Our aim is to help clients achieve carbon-neutrality and net-zero by developing corporate sustainability strategies, calculating product and company carbon footprints as well as implementing sustainability measures, emission compensation and carbon trading. We are also involved in the development and implementation of sustainability standards to ensure sustainable value chains and social compliance.
In this position you get the chance and responsibility to work in two focus areas on agricultural supply chains, namely greenhouse gas calculations and strategy development for agricultural supply chains and development and implementation of a new certification scheme for sustainable peat substitutes. These areas are dealt across different teams having the topic of agriculture in common and as a focus, meaning this is a hybrid position.
- You will be responsible for consulting projects with a focus on global agricultural supply chains such as coffee, cocoa, cotton, corn, palm oil, coconut and more
- You will develop customized greenhouse gas calculations for entire agricultural supply chains applying different tools and standards
- You will support in the development and implementation of a new certification system for sustainable peat substitutes that are used in potting soils and professional substrates as an alternative to peat
- You will work on various topics related to sustainability certification, including further development of sustainability requirements, supply chain traceability, alignment with legal requirements, accreditation, quality management and integrity program
- You will support the application of new digital tools for audit processes
- You will perform data research, analysis and evaluations for specific customer requests and the preparation of reports and market studies
- You will implement the concepts and processes together with our customers
- You will support the further development of our service portfolio and manage proposals and tenders
- You will be responsible for the whole project lifecycle including scheduling, stakeholder management, documentation, controlling, preparation and participation in client meetings and project workshops (in-person and virtual)
- You will support communication and public relations of the certification system
- You will perform company presentations at public national and international events
- University degree in agricultural science, organic agriculture, environmental engineering, natural resource management, natural sciences, life sciences, sustainable management, or other related fields
- Basic knowledge in GHG emissions accounting, GHG Protocol, ISO, IPCC or similar standards and Lifecycle Assessments for different products
- Additional experience in following areas of advantage: sustainability certification, policy consulting, GHG/ carbon footprint calculation, stakeholder management
- At least one year of professional experience in project management
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (both at least C1), other languages of advantage
- Strong presentation skills as well as the ability to explain complex issues in simple terms and to prepare professional presentations according to target group
- High degree of initiative and commitment combined with an independent working style and pragmatic, hands-on attitude
- Very good computer and MS Office skills as well as high general IT proficiency
- Good affinity with calculations, data analysis and data collection
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally upon request
