The TPM (Terminal Product Manager) should be in-charge of new mobile products development and certification, with the below main responsibilities for few of the Device OEMs:

  • Project Management: Responsible for end-to-end management of terminals project, interface with different Device OEMs and internal teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Product Management: Responsible for the product readiness of all new to market devices and in-life software updates, working in conjunction with 1&1 AG Partner Management, 1&1 Network engineering and different testing teams.
  • Vendor Management: Responsible for various Device OEM vendor management, holding regular alignment calls and be the point-of-contact from 1&1 towards the Device OEMs for Technical topics.
  • Device Certification Management: Define HW and FW requirements Internally and align with Device OEMs and make sure that the HW/FW meets the 1&1 Technical Acceptance criteria and Certification requirements.
  • Maintenance Releases rollout: Drive the roll-out of Maintenance Releases and align internally for corresponding validation testing to improve the in-market performances for the devices after Software update.
  • Test scope definition: Elaboration and maintenance of Test Plans and testcases with a focus on keeping the balance between quality and efficiency.
  • New Network feature Forecasting: Align on the roadmap for new Network features deployment Internally and with Device OEMs and obtain corresponding Device Firmware to get the new network features validated and certified with various Device OEM Partners.
  • Roadmap Planning: Align on the roadmap for new Device models launch, New Maintenance Release plans, New Device features deployment with various Device OEMs and align with Internal Network Engineering teams and testing teams to validate and certify the Devices as needed.
  • Incident Management: Providing support to the investigation of in-life issues as they are escalated to the Device Management team, working with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Quality Management: Managing the relationship with our managed test service and monitoring key performance metrics of the devices under continuous regression testing against the 1&1 network.
  • Reporting: Provide the regular status and reports to Head of Device Management and bring-up any points for escalation wherever needed.

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Telecom Industry and ideally working as Device OEM vendor management or Terminal Product Manager experience with MNOs for several years.
  • Prior working experience on working and leading Device Certification/Maintenance Projects.
  • Strong technological understanding of device firmware downloads and device features testing activities on various device types, like, Phones, Tablets, wearables, Laptops, CPE.
  • Good understanding of various 3GPP and non-3GPP Network Technologies, like, 2G, 4G, 5G NSA, 5G SA, VoLTE, VoNR, VoWiFi, Network Slicing.
  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Strong customer focus and user-centric mindset to ensure the Best user experience for our Subscribers.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent German and English language skills (oral and written).
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
