We are 50Hertz – one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, more than 1,600 people work to ensure that electricity flows reliably at all times, with low losses and optimised control over long distances. As a TSO, we play a key moderating role in the realisation of the energy transition from a social, technical and economic perspective. Our goal: to safely integrate 100 per cent renewable energy into the grid and system by 2032.

Why is this role interesting for me? 50Hertz, being part of the Elia Group, is at the forefront of the energy transition. To ensure the seamless integration of renewable energies and to grant security of supply, 50Hertz has to master complex digital challenges with a broad variety of specific applications. As product owner of the product “Lighthouse” I will contribute to safe and reliable application operations by providing near real time information concerning the state of the applications.
My tasks:
- Collaboration with key stakeholders to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap,
- Anticipation and understanding the customer needs and technological evolvements to align the product strategy accordingly,
- Being responsible for the backlog and the continuous planning of it,
- Communication of product updates and progress,
- Risk management,
- Ensuring the integration of the product within the Elia Group product and system landscape.
- IT/tech-related academic degree,
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in a digital product development environment with ideally proven experience in contributing to, developing and/or managing SaaS products,
- Very good knowledge in application monitoring, alerting and visualization, telemetry, log aggregation and analytics,
- Strong understanding of IT operations and SLAs
- Familiarity with prioritization frameworks (e. g., RICE, Kano Model, MoSCoW, Cost of Delay),
- Language skills: English (C1), fluent German is a plus.
