In our Control System team for compact wheel loaders, we are responsible for the whole Electric and Electronic system of our machine, starting from the first drafts through the verification and validation of our designs until the launch of new products. We are developing our product with tools like virtual product development and 3D, defining the vehicle functions, designing components, and delivering the software for our machines. We are also working on product maintenance and continuously improving our products and working methods. Furthermore, we are a multicultural team with unique experiences, skills and competences. Software System Engineer (f/m/d)


As a software system engineer at Volvo Construction Germany GmbH, you will contribute to developing a compact wheel loader from A to Z. You will not work alone but together with different departments locally but also on other sites. You will:

  • You develop vehicle functions in cross-functional teams and implement them in our software environment
  • You realize software functions either model based or hand-coded
  • You are responsible for the design, implementation and integration of vehicle and safety functions, as well as diagnostic and error handling
  • You work in different areas like the development of HMI functions, data management, control algorithms, and Artificial Intelligence

  • A university degree with a focus on electrical engineering, informatics, mechatronics or a comparable qualification
  • A high sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong team orientation and the willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop yourself
  • Experience in software development of embedded systems, model based development and simulation
  • Knowledge of working with requirements and functional safety, as well as experience in the construction machinery industry, is an advantage
